This contemporary abstract hand-woven tapestry, wall sculpture was done by Kari Stiansen.
Kari Stiansen is a Norwegian Postwar and Contemporary fiber artist who was born in 1954. She works mainly in textiles and is often inspired by nature. Stiansen has a degree from the Western Academy of Arts (1979-1984). Her textile art attracted a lot of attention during the Southern Exhibition at Christiansand Kunstforening in 1988, where she displayed a blanket in black. The carpet was described in an article in the World Gang as one of the exhibition's absolute highlights. She often experiments with materials from nature such as feathers and roots.
